domain name auctions, make money buying domain names

If you think that nobody ever makes any money on domain name auctions, you need to revise that opinion. Two stories that I read recently assured me that it is indeed possible to make money buying domain names. In fact, I think the two cases I'm talking about made a lot of money. That is unless you think $2-3 million dollars is chickenfeed. Well I guess to a guy like Bill Gates that's probably what he gets when he cleans out his couch cushions. But seriously, a guy from North Potomoc Maryland named Chris Clarkewas savvy enough to register the domain name pizza.com back in 1994 and persistent enough to keep paying the $20 a year fee to maintain his ownership of the domain. After making $5,000 with the name from advertising last year, Clark decided to put his site up in domain name auctions. The bidding started at $100 and went to $1,000,000 by the end of the first day. When the auction finally ended, Chris Clark was 2.6 million dollars richer. So, don't tell me that domain name auctions never make money. The other big case of this was for the domain vodka.com. It sold for $3,000,000 in domain name auctions. Convinced?
